JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - A jury has found a 25-year-old man guilty of murder and especially aggravated robbery in the shooting death of a Jackson locksmith, but they were deadlocked on his sentence.

The jury took less than 30 minutes in Madison County Circuit Court on Wednesday to convict Ameale Hudson in the death of Troy Mitchell, a locksmith and Marine veteran. But The Jackson Sun reported that the jury could not reach a decision on whether Hudson should be sentenced to life with or without parole.

Judge Roger Page said he is required to give Hudson the possibility of parole if the jury is deadlocked.

A 16-year-old who authorities say shot Mitchell under the direction of Hudson faces the same charges and is scheduled to go to trial in February.
